It Is No Dream: The Life Of Theodor Herzl

It Is No Dream: The Life of Theodor Herzl is the most recent film from Moriah Films. It looks at the life and times of the man who helped found the modern state of Israel. Theodor Herzl, a well-known journalist and playwright, was disgusted by the Dreyfus trial in Paris and the anti-Semitism he saw spreading across Europe, so he took on the task of trying to make a Jewish homeland in Palestine against all odds. Sir Ben Kingsley, who won an Academy Award for his work on the film, narrates. Christoph Waltz, who won an Academy Award for his work on the film, plays Herzl. It took 8 years for Herzl to start up a global political movement that led to Israel becoming a country in 50 years, but it was worth it. Following Herzl, the film shows how he meets with Kings, Prime Ministers, emissaries from all over the world (a Sultan, a Pope, and government ministers), and how he tries to build a Jewish nation.
