A genuine story: Norway, 1915. On the Norwegian island of Basty, a group of young lads ages 11 to 18 are confined in a notoriously cruel delinquent youth institution. One day, Erling, a newcomer, enters, determined to flee. After a sad event, he leads the lads in a violent revolt. To restore order, 150 soldiers are rushed in to help the youngsters.
