Every summer, Luce, a quirky 50-something painter, spends her time in a small, secluded township in southern France that is in ruins, surrounded by visitors. Max Bernier (an old flame, author, and alcoholic), her current squeeze (a lawyer named Bisorgueil), and three of his buddies whom she has yet to meet: Rhino, Gros, and Alex are among the guests this summer. These three unknowns attack an armored truck and make escape with 250 kg of gold after finishing their shopping in town. They return to Luce's, expecting her to keep them hidden until the end of the summer... However, some occurrences will throw a wrench in the works, and the hamlet will turn into a battleground over the course of a long and tumultuous day.
