Ten years have passed since Lina left her son in Peru with her mother and moved to Chile in order to find employment as a housemaid. These days, we are in the days leading up to Christmas. An earlier superior named Manuel has approached her with a request to oversee the construction of a swimming pool in the new home he is building for his daughter Clara.
