Lucas, a writer who made a successful debut five years ago, has reached a stalemate. To give his second book - a pretentious World War II novel – a fresh lease of life, he returns to Berlin, where he unexpectedly falls across his former travel companion and girlfriend, Lena, who becomes his new inspiration. The two of them spend an incredible night together on the streets of Berlin after a series of circumstances brings the two of them together. They talk about their hopes and expectations for the future, now that the future has begun in earnest. But have they genuinely coped with everything that has happened in their lives?
