Lou Reed & John Cale: Songs for Drella

Songs for Drella is a concept album by Lou Reed and John Cale, both of The Velvet Underground, dedicated to Andy Warhol, their mentor, who died suddenly in 1987. Drella was a moniker for Warhol developed by Warhol Superstar Ondine, which was a combination of Dracula and Cinderella and was popular among Warhol's fans. The song cycle focuses on Warhol's interpersonal relationships and experiences, with songs divided into three categories: Warhol's first-person perspective (which comprises the majority of the album), third-person narratives chronicling events and affairs, and first-person commentaries on Warhol by Reed and Cale. The tracks on the CD are arranged in a chronological order to some extent.
