Love & Basketball
In this drama, a young African-American couple must navigate the perilous waters of love and athletic competition. Quincy McCall (Omar Epps) and Monica Wright (Sanaa Lathan) are childhood friends who grew up in the same neighborhood and have known each other since they were small children. As they grow into adulthood, they fall in love, but they also have another all-consuming passion in common: they both love basketball. In addition to having a great deal of talent on the court, they have been following the game their entire lives. Even as they battle to make their relationship work, Quincy and Monica pursue distinct career paths in high school and college basketball, with the ultimate goal of becoming stars in major league professional basketball.
