Love and Death

Allen is a cowardly serf who is forced to fight in the Napoleonic war, even though he would rather write poetry and be obsessed with his beautiful but pretentious cousin. The story takes place in Russia in the 19th century. Allen's fearlessness makes him a national hero when he hides in a cannon and is shot into a tent of French soldiers. Love and Death is a hilarious parody of Russian literature, and fans of Allen's movies should not miss it.
