Love Cuts
Cecilia, who is somewhere in her forties, is a merry and vivacious seamstress who is better known to her friends as Sissy. Her husband of many years, Wai Mun, is the head chef of a highly regarded Chinese restaurant. His relocation from Hong Kong to Singapore has resulted in a degree of dissatisfaction with his life, but he and Sissy are a doting couple who have a happy marriage despite this. They have a son who is 15 years old and a daughter who is nine years old. Their daughter is very close with Sissy and provides her with a lot of cheer and comfort when she is feeling down. Their lives, on the surface, appear to be unremarkable and routine; nonetheless, they are about to be rocked by an unforeseen catastrophe. Sissy notices a bump in her left breast one day, and it's quite firm. She is flooded with a storm of conflicting feelings all at once.
