Assassination threats plagued King Gwang-hae during the confused Joseon Dynasty, so he asks his councilor, HEO Kyun, for help. HEO Kyun discovers Ha-sun, a jester who resembles the monarch, and Gwang-hae is poisoned. HEO Kyun suggests Ha-sun be the king while Gwang-hae recovers fully, and grooms Ha-sun to look and act the part. At his first official appearance as king, Ha-sun ponders the complexities of the issues argued in his court. Unlike Gwang-hae, Ha-devotion sun's and gratitude for even the smallest employees eventually improves castle morale. This causes the king's biggest opponent, PARK, to get suspicious.
