Mari Pataki, a young farmer's daughter, lives in a rural area in the midst of tremendous transformation. Because of her father's wishes, she is unable to see the man she has fallen in love with. Due to the father's preoccupation with farm work and future money, he plans to marry off his daughter to an old but wealthy guy with whom he does business.
