Eddie's mother, a fifteen-year-old, becomes very ill following a catastrophic vehicle accident. Eddie and his brother Stewart are forced to fend for themselves, and one night, after running out of food and electricity, Eddie has a dream in which his mother asks him to locate an angel's halo in order to save her.
