Lorenzo is a Patagonian adolescent. One day, his family hosts Cato, the son of some friends who are dealing with a serious family crisis and are unable to care for him. He is a complicated child who is having difficulty adjusting to his new surroundings. Despite their differences, they form an unusual friendship. Each can learn a lot from the other. Caito, still with his belongings, has the rebellious streak that Lorenzo requires to break the rigid molds in his head and let his most repressed instincts and passions flow. Life at home becomes frantic, but vital and engaging. Cato is more than a troublesome adolescent: he forces Lorenzo's parents to revisit a dark chapter of their past that they would rather forget.
