After being hired on to what appears to be a standard missing person case, former Hollywood actress and former football player Harry Moseby learns that her daughter has gone missing and that Moseby must locate and return her. Moseby is a private detective and former football player. When an unsolved death is discovered, Harry flies to Florida in search of the fugitive girl, but he soon realizes there is a connection between the fleeing girl, the world of Hollywood stuntmen, and a shady mechanic in the area.
