Indy Zimmerman's existence is not flawless. With a stepmother who seems to make it her mission to make indy's life miserable, stepsisters who want nothing to do with her, and a boy who ruined her life suddenly wanting to be a part of it, Indy's life is already exceedingly difficult. Add high school, love, and tragedy to the mix, and the situation couldn't be more dire. When the most popular boy at school, Bryant Bailey, kills Indy's cat, she wants nothing to do with him. However, he appears determined to be a part of her life, and despite unsuccessful attempts to get rid of him, she decides to give him a chance. He may not be her type, but Indy quickly realizes that first appearances can be deceiving.
