Oedipus Rex
A young couple in pre-war Italy is blessed with the birth of a son. The father, on the other hand, is envious of his son, and the action shifts to antiquity, where the newborn is taken into the desert and slain. Edipo (Oedipus) is given to him as a name by the King and Queen of Corinth, and he is raised by them as their son. Edipo is informed by an oracle that he is doomed to kill his father and marry his mother at the age of seven. The terrified young guy departs Corinth and his presumed parents - only to become involved in a fight and kill an elderly gentleman on the route...
