Once I Was a Beehive

Lane Speer is a sixteen-year-old girl who spends her summers camping in the mountains with her family. She takes the memories for granted until her father is diagnosed with cancer unexpectedly. Only a year later, as Lane is still mourning from the death of her father, her mother marries a man Lane has never met. Worse worse, he is a member of the Mormon faith. To top it off, they arrange for her to stay with her Mormon step-aunt for their honeymoon, where she is whisked away to a bible-themed girls camp with a group of teenage Mormon girls. Confronted with memories of camping with her family, she struggles to adjust to her new circumstances and come to terms with her father's passing.
