Stan and Ollie, who are at the end of their financial rope, go to a kind elderly lady and beg for some food. The kind lady gives them some sandwiches. They were dining when they overheard the lady's landlord telling the lady that he was going to kick her out since she was unable to pay her mortgage. They are oblivious to the fact that the elderly lady is in fact performing in a play that they are yet to see. The two friends make the decision to sell their car in order to provide financial assistance to the elderly woman. During the course of the auction, an inebriated participant slips Stan a wallet into one of his pockets. Ollie falsely accuses Stan of robbing the elderly woman, but when the reality is uncovered, Stan exacts his vengeance on Ollie.
