Following his military duty in Brazil, former Green Beret Louis Stevens returns to his hometown of Miami to discover that his old high school has been transformed into a refuge for gangs and drug traffickers. "It's a shame," Stevens says. As a result of Stevens' use of his capoeira talents to evict many drug dealers from the school grounds, Kerrigan, an old teacher of Stevens', notices the positive impact Stevens is having on the kids. Kerrigan assigns him the responsibility of instructing Capoeira to a small group of the most at-risk pupils at the institution.
