Carlos is a man who goes to a coffee shop-library to get a cup of coffee while Irene reads. Irene approaches Carlos and talks with him for no apparent reason, beginning a friendship with a few ground rules: no pasts, no birth names, no modern means of communication (such as the Internet or similar), and, most importantly, no falling in love with each other. Hada Chalada ('Crazy Fairy') and Duende Chiflado ('Mad Goblin') spend their days walking around the city, having magical, surrealist, and hilarious conversations about life, love, and themselves, while Carlos tries to finish his new script with his friend Cristóbal, an eccentric writer obsessed with Japan.
