Spain, in 1953. Kilian is a young man from the mountains of Huesca who goes with his brother to the island of Fernando Poo, a province of the Spanish Guinea in Africa, to work on his father's cocoa plantation. Once he gets there, he starts on a twenty-year journey toward maturity and knowledge, but he will also have to deal with pain and loss.
