Piñero
This movie is about a Latino icon, Miguel Piero, who was a gay poet, playwright, and actor. His urban poetry is seen as an early precursor to rap and hip-hop. He went to prison for petty theft and drug dealing, and his time there led to the 1974 Tony-nominated play Short Eyes. Because of all the attention and fame, the Latino bad-boy genius had to hide in the darker parts of New York City.
