Pit Stop
Grant Willard notices Rick Bowman, a drag racing street punk. Willard bails him out and offers him a job driving stock cars. Bowman accepts and enters the "figure eight" racing world. Hawk Sidney is the king of the figure eight track. Hawk's gorgeous companion Jolene falls for Bowman's charms. Bowman's gaze goes to Ellen McLeod, Ed McLeod's wife. Gradually, Bowman's regard for his buddies fades, giving place to a fixation with being the best.
