A lucky apple for bootlegger Dave the Dude. But Dave and Queenie Martin need more than luck when Annie needs help and only they can help: Annie's daughter Louise, raised in a Spanish convent, is joining a Count and his son in America. Louise believes her mother is a member of New York society. It's up to Dave, Queenie, and their Runyonesque comrades to make Annie a lady and fool the Count and his son.
