Respiro
Grazia is a free-spirited mother of three who is married to a reserved fisherman named Pietro. Together, they make their home on the picture-perfect but remote island of Lampedusa, which is located in the Mediterranean Sea. She demonstrates symptoms of manic-depressive behavior, such as laughing hysterically and swimming in the ocean while partially clothed one minute, and then curling up in a ball on her bed the next. Adult members of her extended family have been overheard having hazy conversations about her possible placement in an institution of some kind located in Northern Italy. She has been kept out of earshot during these conversations.
