Rita, Sue and Bob Too

A realistic look at working-class life in Yorkshire. A married man has a sexual fling with two schoolgirls. Serious and comical at times. Andrea Dunbar adapted two of her own controversial plays into Rita, Sue, and Bob Too. Rita (Siobhan Finneran) and Sue (Michelle Holmes) are two teenagers who work as babysitters for Bob's (George Costigan) and Michelle's (Lesley Sharp) children on a run-down council estate in Bradford. Bob decides to take Rita and Sue up to a deserted country-side landscape while giving them a ride home one night. Rita and Sue are clearly aware of his intentions, and both have a sexual encounter with him that becomes a regular occurrence. Despite the film's obvious political incorrectness, it emerges as a somewhat controversial, enduringly amusing film with a sharp, gritty undertone.
