Convicted sheriff and south-side racketeer Guy Gisborne take down Big Jim in Chicago during Prohibition. Except for Robbo, who commands the north side, everyone falls behind Guy. Robbo wants to preserve his own area despite being outgunned. One of Robbo's allies is an Indiana pool player who is also the superintendent of a boys' orphanage. A newcomer named Marian enters and goes from man to man seeking to find an ally in her goal to take over the whole show, while Guy plots to get rid of Robbo. Can Robbo keep it together?
