Royal Opera House: The Sleeping Beauty
The Sleeping Elegance holds a special location in The Royal Dancing's repertory. It was the ballet with which the Business resumed the Royal Music hall in 1946 after The Second World War, its first production at its new home in Covent Yard. Margot Fonteyn danced the duty of the attractive Princess Aurora in the sneak preview, with Robert Helpmann as Prince Florimund. Sixty years later on, in 2006, the original 1946 hosting was revived by then Supervisor of The Royal Dancing Monica Mason and also Christopher Newton, returning Oliver Messel's remarkable designs and also flashing costumes to the stage.
