Samurai III: Duel at Ganryu Island

Takezo abandons his life as a knight errant in order to be modest and simple. Shogun, Japan's most powerful clan chief, seeks him out as a tutor and subordinate. He is also challenged to battle by Sasaki Kojiro, who is incredibly confident and skilled. Takezo promises to face Kojiro in a year but declines the Shogun's support, preferring to reside on the outskirts of a village and raise vegetables. He is followed there by Otsu and afterwards by Akemi, both of whom are head over heels in love with him. Takezo concludes the year by assisting the villagers in their fight against a band of brigands. He begs Otsu's forgiveness and accepts her love before setting sail for Ganryu Island for his final competition.
