Santa Sangre
A young man is being held in a psychiatric institution. It is revealed in the film that he was traumatized as a youngster while his family worked as circus performers: he witnessed his father cutting off the arms of his mother, a religious fanatic and leader of the heretical church of Santa Sangre ("Holy Blood"), and then committing suicide. Returning to the present, he manages to elude capture and reunite with his armless mother who has survived.
