It is the story of Luisa De Dominicus, a piano teacher from Milan, who relocates to Lucca in order to be with the man she loves: Ferdinando 'Bonci' Marinotti, a municipal councilman running for mayor on a platform of moral principles. She is under the impression that Fernando is a single man who lives with his elderly mother. Of fact, this is not the case in the least. Many of the lads who live in her apartment complex assume Luisa is a call girl who uses piano playing as a cover for her true vocation, and news quickly travels among the nasty old men who live in the building. The ingenious youngsters cut a well-concealed hole in the wall between Signorina Luisa's flat and the bedroom of the landlord's son, Marcello Busatti, allowing them to have a wonderful view of their remarkable neighbor from the comfort of their own home. Marcello falls head over heels in love with Luisa, but he is torn between his feelings for her and his professional obligations.
