Appraiser Rachel (Lindsey Shaw) learns that her prestigious client wishes to purchase a tiny town's beloved library in order to develop the area into a resort and spa. Rachel is adamantly opposed to leaving New York City but loses the battle with her boss. As a result, Rachel gathers her belongings and boards a plane bound for California. During her first visit to the library, she meets writer Jake (Derek Theler), who is conducting research for his upcoming novel about Captain Black Bart's hidden treasures. Mrs. Archer (Rachel Ticotin), the librarian, pushes Jake to demonstrate to Rachel what the library represents to the town in the hopes of saving it. Jake already has a lot on his plate with his study and caring for his niece Hailey (Chiara Aurelia) and nephew Noah (Max Page), but he agrees to assist. As Rachel discovers the importance of the library to the town, she must devise a plan to save it before it is too late.
