Seven Years in Tibet

Heinrich Harrer, an Austrian mountaineer, travels to the Himalayas alone in 1939 to lead an expedition. When World War II breaks out, the arrogant Harrer becomes a prisoner of war in the hands of Allied forces. He escapes with a fellow detainee and travels to Llaso, Tibet, where he meets the 14-year-old Dalai Lama, whose friendship transforms his perspective on life.
