Jennifer, a self-centered teenager, accidentally walks into a homeless shelter late one night after getting into a fight with her sick mother. Jennifer's father is upset with how self-centered his daughter is, so he gives her an ultimatum that includes volunteering at a shelter. He hopes that by doing this, Jennifer will learn to be responsible and kind to others. Through this new experience, Jennifer forms an unlikely bond with the staff and with one very special young guest. This helps her realize that Christmas is really about love and family.
