There is an orphanage managed by the tyrannical authorities of a future Earth when most water has vanished. On roller skates, the group in question plays an excellent version of hockey. It has given them a togetherness that surpasses the government's efforts to subdue them. Unusual consequences of a powerful orb they locate They flee the orphanage (on skates) and try to cross the wasteland to find a safe place to live while stormtroopers hunt them and the orb.
