Upon arriving at a mental hospital in Vermont, Dr. Constance Peterson discovers that Dr. Anthony Edwardes, the new director, is actually an impostor. That the real Dr. Edwardes is dead and that he worries he may have killed him, but he can't remember anything. That doesn't stop Dr. Peterson from joining him on a psychoanalytic journey to find out if his impersonator is innocent of the man's murder.
