Angus Montague (Randolph Scott) and his girlfriend, Vicky, are a Canadian Mountie and his girlfriend, Vicky. Shirley Temple plays young orphan Susannah Sheldon, who is the only survivor of a brutal Indian attack. She is befriended by Angus and Vicky (Margaret Lockwood). Having a precocious child around can be a good thing. When the Indians come back, the girl uses her charm to get them to agree to a deal. Shirley is the only survivor of an Indian attack in the Canadian West who has been left alone. He and his girlfriend take her in.
