Tetsuo: The Iron Man

Tetsuo: The Iron Man is a cyberpunk movie from Japan that came out in 1989. It was directed by Shinya Tsukamoto and made by Japan Home Video. This, his third movie, is a fantasy that is both very violent and beautifully shot. It was made in the same low-budget, underground style as his first two movies. Tetsuo is mostly an overwhelming audiovisual experience, with a brain-pounding score by Chu Ishikawa and suitably over-the-top sound effects. The story is about how people change into grotesque hybrids of flesh and metal.
