Kôichi Nishi, an illegitimate son of a Japanese corporation's vice president, rises through the ranks and marries Iwabuchi's daughter, a disabled woman. The wedding cake at the celebration is a copy of their corporate headquarters, but certain detail of the design brings back memories of Nishi's father's hushed-up death.
