The Big Blue

In this romantic fantasy tale, two men answer the call of the sea. Jacques and Enzo are childhood buddies who love the perilous sport of free diving. Jacques, a professional diver, chose to follow in the footsteps of his father, who died at sea when he was a child; scientists are baffled by his ability to modify his heart rate and breathing pattern under the water, so that his vital signs mimic those of dolphins rather than human (he even considers a school of dolphins as his extended family). As Enzo persuades Jacques to engage in a free diving competition to see who can dive deeper and longer without scuba gear, Jacques meets Johana, a gorgeous insurance investigator from America, and he must choose between his love for her and his love of the water.
