The Bird with the Crystal Plumage

Sam Dalmas, an American author residing in Rome, sees a violent conflict taking place in an art gallery one evening while he is on his way home. The struggle is between a young woman and a figure dressed in a black cloak. Dalmas tries to help, but he ends up becoming caught between the electronically operated glass doors of the gallery, which causes the woman to continue bleeding from the knife wounds. During his interrogation by the police, the shaken author tries his best to remember everything there is to know about what happened. Dalmas, who is convinced that there is some detail regarding the crime that he cannot recall, launches his own inquiry, putting himself and his fiancée Giulia in the line of fire as prospective victims of the perpetrator...
