Thomas, a young German baker, is having an affair with Oren, an Israeli married man who travels to Berlin on a regular basis for professional purposes. When Oren is killed in a vehicle accident in Israel, Thomas rushes to Jerusalem in search of answers about his death. By adopting an alias, Thomas is able to penetrate the life of Anat, the freshly widowed wife of his lover, who runs a tiny café in central Jerusalem. As a result, Thomas begins to work for her, preparing German-style cakes and cookies that help her Café come to life. Thomas finds himself deeply immersed in Anat's life in ways that he could never have imagined. He will go to any length to preserve the truth, even if it means lying beyond the point of no return.
