Germany in 1945. Willi Herold, a German soldier who quit the army, finds the uniform of a Nazi captain that had been left behind in the desperate last weeks of the Third Reich. Willi finds out that many Germans will follow the leader, no matter who he is. This makes him feel better about stealing a suit just to stay warm.
