The Captive Heart
Over the course of five years, nine men in a POW camp tell their experiences of love, loss, and redemption. Believability is enhanced by filming in the British-occupied region of Germany. To keep his identity a secret from the Nazis, Hasek (Redgrave) appears as a dead English officer in order to communicate with the man's widow. As soon as they're free, they run into each other and decide to go on their lives as a unit. The stories of the other inmates are gradually exposed.
