The Conductor

A violinist in a small Polish orchestra, whose husband runs the group, meets up with a world-famous symphony conductor while on a trip to the United States. It turns out that he once loved the mother of the violinist. The conductor, who is a bit of a hypochondriac, goes back to Poland to lead an orchestra in a small town. He also tries to get back together with an old lover by pretending that the violinist is her mother. Both personally and professionally, her spouse dislikes the conductor.
