When Eric arrives in a little village on Christmas Eve, he feels carefree. Here, he comes face to face with Julien, a bar pianist who is an exact double of himself. Julien is hopelessly smitten with the lovely waitress Marinette, but he cannot bring himself to make any amorous advances toward her. By acting as though he were Julien, Eric makes the conscious decision to facilitate the development of real love. In the meantime, Eric's enormously wealthy uncle has dispatched his henchmen to bring him back home so that he can spend Christmas with his family. This will allow Eric to celebrate the holiday with his loved ones.
