The Devil's Trap
A priest comes to a small town one day, but he is there on a secret mission. He is a member of the Inquisition who was sent to look into what a local miller was doing. The miller and his son are from an old family whose home burned down a hundred years ago and was rebuilt from scratch. A lot of the miller's knowledge about the land, the water, and the stability of a building came from generations of family experience. The Inquisition heard about him because he was known for finding water and knowing when a building would fall down. They thought he must be working with the Devil.
