The Empty Hours

This is Aarón Fernández's second film. It is a joint project between Spain, Mexico, and France. It was shown at the 60th Cannes Film Festival. Sebastián, 17, has to run his uncle's motel in Veracruz, Mexico, on his own. He rents rooms by the hour, and it's hard work. That's how he meets a regular customer who goes there to wait for a lover who often comes late, which leads to a brief game of seduction between them.
