Jeff Webster sees the beginnings of the Klondike gold rush in 1896 as a perfect opportunity to make a fortune in beef...and anyone who gets in his way is doomed! He transports a herd of cattle from Wyoming to Seattle, then by ship to Skagway, then across the mountains to Dawson (after a detour induced by greedy town leader Gannon). There, he and his business partner Ben Tatum start their own gold company. Two attractive ladies fall for misanthropic Jeff, but he believes in every man for himself, ignoring escalating lawlessness...until it finally hits home.
