Frank Bannister was formally trained as an architect, but these days he presents himself as an exorcist of evil spirits. He claims that his "unique" gift was bestowed upon him as a result of a vehicle accident that took the life of his wife in order to buttress his charade. However, he does not take into account the possibility that there will be other fatalities in the little town in which he resides. As he investigates the murders and attempts to solve the mystical mystery behind them, he finds himself falling in love with the wife of one of the victims and interacting with a deranged FBI agent.
